Dear my diary.
        Now I'm writing with you in a temporary shelter built by government! How wonderful it is! I must be dreaming. But turned out I'm not. I can believe the war finally ends! Righteous finally beat up evil! This shelter is great, we don't have to eat potatoes and cabbage all day long. My parents are safe. I can even contact my grandma by the telephone. She is in another city with my uncle. They are safe too.
        All that happened last week. A month ago, we already heard about that war maybe ends because the good leader is planing a big counterattack. And last week when I was sleeping, the good army finally occupy the city I was hiding. Gunshot, bomb. After all that, someone broke in our door, we all freaked out. But turns out it's our men, we are safe!
        I think I can write a book about what I went through for these years base on my diary. Maybe I can even publish it. What important is the world is finally become peaceful again! My dad found that our home is still sound. We can go back to Beijing about next month, because the war completely paralyses the transportation.  Everything will be fine.
       

Hiding no food

Dear my diary.
      This morning, a bomb has destroyed our food storage. Which means we are completely run out of food!. We don't have any foot stock. Our foot supplier was died because of black market dealing. What can we do! Everyone feel anxious and hopeless. It's very silent this whole afternoon. After a discussion, my father decided to go out to find food with one of his friend this evening. It's very dangerous outside!
       Hope they can make it happen and be safe.    

Hiding martial law

The martial law just has been put into our place. It's really a dangerous signal for us. Basically, we are trapped in this menacing place. I don't know if they already found us. But we can neither run a risk to relocate our hiding place nor find new supplies.
Luckily, they gone in a week. We are able to get the food again.

      A big storm just attacked our hiding group yesterday. Fortunately, we live underground. But this disaster still cut our power out. Now we have to live without light for days. This big also monster destroyed 2 houses near our place and killed about 10 people I think. This Veritable beast makes the situation worse than before.

Hiding relocate

Dear my dairy.
     The environment around us is more and more dangerous. My parents made a decision that we , have to relocate to a new place.  My father's friend used his truck to move us. We finally got there yesterday night. It's under a small private school. But trust me, the condition is way better than the old place. There are 3 desk, a big restroom and 4 soft and comfy beds.
     I can finally read and work comfortably. Hope we can end this tumultuous life.

Conflict

       I can't stand Blake any more. He is the kid of my father's friends----Mr. Green. Greens ask us to take care of him about 2 months! Just because they want to go to visit an old friend! That's a disaster! This child is a evil. He is in 8th grade. It seems like he will destroy everything he will see. My books, my clothes and he even broke 2 glasses! I really really want to just kick him out.
      Hope his parents can come back as soon as possible.

Hiding-(illness)

Dear my diary.
That's terrible! My elder cousin Neal is sick for a whole week! At first, he just feel his chest was very tight and after 2 days he had nausea. And now he is having a fever! We can do nothing but comfort him. Everyone in this secret is worry about his illness.
Something good happened yesterday. My father found a nurse outside and took her here.You can't imagine how hard is it to find someone in this situation. I don't know what kind of ruse he used in order to brough her here. After her remedy my cousin feels better. And he is taking medicines everyday.

Hiding tech

Dear my diary.
Our situation is more and more dangerous because the enemies are closer to our secret room. What worse is that the electric is running out. It means all the battery of technologies will die soon! You have no idea how terrible it is. You can only read at afternoon rely on the light through the window. It means we can no long have any connection with the outside world! Sooner or later, I will be a Ignoramus!
Hope we can go through all of these .

I can't image how difficult it is to hide in a small room. You have nothing to do except reading. You can only sleep in a little divan at night that you have to add a few chairs to make it longer! What worse is you must share a small bathroom with 8 people! I don't no how long I can hold on in this situation.

      I read about the argument between Anne and Mr. Dussel about the permission of a table so far. It must be very difficult and uncomfortable to live with so many people that you don't familiar with. You have to deal with so many problems and different odd habits from different people. You will not have any privacy in this situation. It is even worse when you are hiding and not allowed to use bathroom sometimes.
 

   Air raid visited them nearly twice a week. How horrible is that.

        It's been a while that I haven't talk to you. My family is busy with moving to a new burrow to hide. Because this place is not save any more.
        My father's old friend Leo helped a lot. He is a ludicrous but a reliable person. He built a big new secret room for us to hide. This room is way more beautiful and comfortable that the old one. It has 2 bed and a big comfortable divan. We can even cook meals in this room. He helped us to move by his big truck so that we can avoid all the risk and trouble.
        He is a very very nice guy.

Dear my diary.
       I've been live in this wet and hot room for a long time. The only thing you can do in this room is looking each other in darkness. How boring it is. And the only place you can rest is a broke chair. I already got a lumbago because this chair. I really miss my bedroom in this situation.
       My bedroom, which is my joyful room. It has 2 windows. The light is comfortable to read and work. Sometimes wind would come through my room and make it cool and dry. The soft bed on the corner is the best place I've ever sleep. Each poster in this room is colorful.
       I'm very sad that I don't know if I will have another chance to see it.

        Today is the worst day of my life. We haven't hear from my uncle Bai. Today my father told me that the government found him hiding in a secret room and put him in the prison! What a terrible news it is. I can't even believe it when I heard it. He is ingenuity and full of ardor. We spent lots of wonderful time together in the past. It really makes me upset.
       The rest of us have to look forward and continue our life. I believe we will overcome all of these.

        It's been about a week since my family hiding in a little room behind a painting in my father's office. Fresh food and water is very rare during these days. My mother is very anxious. She always worry about what if someone find us. So my father need to comfort her nearly everyday.
       It's a thought time. But I believe we will get through it at last. It's time for me to be areal man and protect the family.

       I'm forced to hiding with my family because we are all Chinese. The government limited the food and water supplies. You can't go to theater, mall, or any public entertainment center. You can't find any brainwork if you are a Chinese.
       It's actually a thought time for Chinese guys.

Holocaust

        Holocaust, a horrible event caused by war! I learnt a huge amount of awful fact about it while I was in China. There are lots of holocausts happened in China during the war. Teacher told me ther are over 500,000 people died in NanJing holocaust!
        I want learn more about how to stop horrible event like that from happening. Holocaust is a huge tragedy in human history.

The freedom writer

      Just a week ago, Mrs. Bacon brought a motivational movie called The Freedom Writer. "How a Teacher and 150 Teens Used Writing to Change Themselves and the World Around Them " . A young teacher called Erin Gruwell's first job is to teach a class. They are all "at-risk" high school students. Erin didn't give up, and let those students write dairy everyday. Found out all the students was filled with pain. They involved with gang violence , drug and gun.Erin use lots of different activities in oder to improve their English skills and help them go out of the darkness. Finally, through teacher's unyielding efforts all class successfully prepared graduate high school and attend college.
       This movie is meaningful. I was moved by the values and spirits of the teacher. How lucky those students are to met such a wonderful teacher. She bought books by herself without any economic support. She She even gave up the marriage for the education. This move Acturally impact me a lot. It let me know I should cherish my good educational environment.

The freedom of water project

          I have a big project recently in English class. It's about the freedom of the water. So I decided to work with scott. We plan to do some posters about the disadvantages of bottled water and advise people abandon drinking bottled water. If they support our project they can sign their name at the bottom of the posters. I decided to research about how to motivate people to make changes. I think it's the key to if the project will succeed.
          I'm excited. Because I can learn a new important skill and actually can help some people to change in a good way!  It's a meaningful project I think.
   

The importance of writing

   Nowadays, as the development of technology, more and more people use E-mail and messages to replace writing. But you may not realize that how important the writing is. Actually, writing relates to most of the professions.
        For example, being an architect is always my ideal professions. It seems that you don't need to have great writing skills to be a success architect. In fact, they relates to each other tighter than you think. Have a great handwriting can give your employers a very good impression. A person who has strong writing skills often let others think he/she is a trustable, reliable and carefully person. The power of writing is strong. A good architect should be both creative and carefully.
        Why don't you spend some time practicing writing. It's really helpful to your profession career.

An experience of English class

         Today in English class, Ms.Bacon ask everyone to write a letter to someone who advertise for bottled water. I think this assignment is very different from any others. You need to advise a specific person for a specific thing. It's a kind of difficult for me. Actually I'm not good at advise others. So this assignment took me a long time. I think it's also a good experience for me to learn how to write a letter and how to advise others.

Dear Jennifer
           I knew you have been a spokesperson for Glaceau’s Smart Water since 2007. But the product you advertise for-------bottled water which is not as good as you think. In fact, all bottled water is bad.
          First of all, those ad is misleading all of us. These photos shown on the ad is not the source of Smart water. Actually much of the bottled water is from urban tap water.
         Second reason is that these products are too expensive for most of people to buy. It's a need instead of a want. It's not someone's  property. It's a precious natural gift.      
        ,Last but not least, plastic bottles can cause serious environmental issue. Those recyclable bottles actually can't be recycle. They hurts the environment badly.
        Therefore, it's a bad idea to be a spokesperson for bottled water advertises. My advice is that you should stop advertising for bottled water because bottled water hurts the environment and it's just expensive tap water.

Bottled water

         At the beginning of the class, Ms. Bacon give us a survey about bottled water and had to evaluate how much bottled water I drink. Then, everyone took a taste test about different kinds of water(tap water,purified water and deer park). The result is different from what I think, it prove that tap water is not that bad. In fact, it taste batter than some bottled water. Finally, I watched two informational videos about bottled water. These two video told me bottled water is less tasty and way more expensive product. The source of these water is not from France or fenland, it just from tap water. Those bottled water company let us think that tap water is not clean.
       This experience told me that you can't just trust what the ads says. It maybe just seducing us and misleading us. Tap water is the best choice when you thirty.

Charity water

       Water is important,it nearly relate to everything in our life. But there is a water crisis in this planet. Nearly 800 million people don't have access to clean drinking water especially in underdeveloped countries. There are lots of people died because of the unclean water they drank.
       Those people seriously need our help. Little children can't get great education as us. They even don't have enough medicine to cure them when they are sick. So what can we do for those people? Many people think this problem is too big for us to solve. In fact, it only cost 20 dollars to help one person to get ride of this water crisis.  What can you do with 20 dollars? Buy a new video game, buy a nice t-shirt or watch some movies. But if you save these money and donate them, you can save a person!  These little money can add up over time. Maybe, we can solve this huge and terrible issue by ourselves.
         Help others from water crisis. I think this should be one of the responsibilities as a Christian to the world. Let us act and help those poor people go through this horrible water crisis!
   

       My life would  be a lot different if I was born in a developing country in Africa. First of all, I need to worry about my life everyday because of the war and the shortage of food. Second, I won't get such a great education and facility as now.
      I think my responsibility to people who born in an underdeveloped area of the world is to help them as much as I can. I can do some public service advertising to tell people how poor they are(they even can't drink clean water!).

     How do we determine if water is potable? That's the question that I'm interested in. So I researched it on google. And I found this website.(http://www.independenttraveler.com/travel-tips/safety-and-health/drinking-water-safety) I think it's a believable website. All the links in this website are available. And this website is not trying to sell something to me. I haven't find the writer, but website looks formal. It just update recently.
      It says the  best way to protect yourself is to avoid local tap water and instead seek out bottled water. If local is the only selection you have, you should boil the water completely before drink them. This website is really helpful to me.

A special experience

A special experience

      Today in English class, Ms. Bacon ask everyone in class to learn about the dangers of DHMO with THE DHMO website only. I knew that DHMO is a very dangerous chemical substance from that website and I think it should be banned as soon as possible. Although I learned chemistry in China, I still missed that DHMO is just simply water just because I read it on a website!
      This special experience gave me a lesson. I will use the information that I find online more carefully. And compare it to other website see if the information is correct and authoritative. This is really a good experience.

The freedom of water

      Now water issue is a global problem. Especially in some water-strapped countries like China etc.
      Most of the lakes and rivers in China was polluted because factories let waste water out and some people just throw rubbish into the river like they don't care at all. You can't drink  water from tap directly. You need to boil them completely.
      The shortage of water is another big problem. In western China it's a luxurious thing to wash the face everyday. People must get water very far from their home and the volume of water is limited by Chinese government
      I hope the government will pay more attention about this water issue.
